Strategic Engagement Agreement (SEA)

The Kaska Dena Council and Kaska Leadership are negotiating a Strategic Engagement Agreement (SEA) with the Province of British Columbia. The SEA is part of the New Relationship Policy and it is an Agreement to set the rules for Government & Industry to follow on consultation, accommodation, revenue sharing and shared decision making. Currently the SEA is being scoped to indentify the components for the Agreement and the following topics are being included for Kaska shared management:

  • Administrative Capacity & Structures;
  • Kaska Policies and Procedures for Resource Development and Protected Areas;
  • Resource Revenue Sharing;
  • Forestry;
  • Mining and Oil & Gas;
  • Land Planning and Protection & Management;
  • Fish & Wildlife Management;
  • Tourism
